ABOUT ATMC
As a frontrunner in international education, the Australian Technical & Management College (ATMC) provides a pathway for international students seeking higher education in the fields of Business and Management in Australia and abroad.
First established in the Indian subcontinent, ATMC has evolved into a flourishing nationally recognized educational institution in association with two leading Australian universities that specialize in the fields of information technology and business: Federation University Australia (Fed) and The University of the Western Sydney University (WSU).
The college has campuses in Melbourne and Sydney, offering a range of innovative courses designed to prepare students for the global workforce.
Our campuses are located in some of the most liveable and culturally diverse cities in the world, so our students are guaranteed an unforgettable international study experience. ATMC campuses are warm and inviting, and specifically catered to support students studying abroad.
We offer a range of degrees that are delivered in a personalized and practical learning environment with a strong focus on global industry connections. ATMC students graduate with the skills, knowledge and relevant industry experience necessary to make a significant impact on the world.
ATMC, in association with Fed and WSU, offers an exciting collection of bachelor degrees, associate degrees, graduate diplomas, master degrees in Information Technology and Information Systems and bachelor and master degrees in Business and Accounting. There is an absolute commitment to keeping the degree programs offered up-to-date at all times and relevant to the industry environment nationally and internationally. At the ATMC the class sizes are small so that students enjoy the learning experience and don’t get lost in the crowd. Staff is accessible. At the ATMC students are a name, not just a number. In fact, academic and administrative staff get to know the students.
Resources are put back into the College to develop facilities and services that benefit students. The College employs contemporary technology in all aspects of the business, delivery, and services.
Classrooms are spacious, fully air-conditioned and inviting. The classrooms are equipped with technologically up to date learning and teaching equipment and resources. The ATMC is dedicated to providing the latest and best hardware and software solutions for all students. From diverse operating systems (such as XP, Linux, and UNIX) to high-end applications software (such as .NET, Java Enterprise, Case Tools etc). ATMC provides training in all of these areas. All labs are equipped with high-end HP servers, Database management solutions, latest multimedia workstations and wireless devices.
At the ATMC we recognize that students might need additional help with their academic studies. So at ATMC, we assign mentors to each of our students. This offering is open to all ATMC students, free of charge, whereby they are able to work with high-performing, more senior students, who act as their mentors. These mentors, students with specialized knowledge who have excelled academically, are employed to assist students, whether individually or in small study groups.
At the ATMC we provide job placement assistance in which complete guidance is provided in terms of resume preparation, mock interviews, etc.
While academic excellence was, and remains, highly valued, the ATMC provides niche advantages in the range, depth and suitability of its student support services, not available at most other similar educational providers.
Kindly check the respective courses for specific requirements.
The ATMC campuses in Sydney and Melbourne are both conveniently located in the Central Business Districts (CBDs) close to a range of accommodation and major transport hubs.
The NSW and Victorian State Governments have put together a range of information that can help you find accommodation and to ensure that when you do find accommodation you know your rights:
TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION
The type of accommodation you choose will depend on your budget, personal circumstances and how close you want to live to the ATMC campus. Types of accommodation include:
SHARE HOUSE
This is the most popular type of student accommodation and involves your renting a single room in a house. In a share house you generally do your own cooking and share the cost of household expenses. The cost for a single room is approximately AUD $75-$150 per week. Living expenses including food, water, and electricity are on top of this and most share houses are unfurnished so you would need to budget to purchase or rent furniture.
A flat or apartment generally refers to a small self-contained home in a block these are often one to two bedrooms and may have a balcony and if you are really lucky, a small courtyard. Depending on the size, they are generally suitable for a single person, two friends, or a couple. They range in price from AUD $250-$400 per week and you will need to allow for paying a bond (normally four weeks rent in advance) and purchasing or renting furniture.
These are generally larger than a flat or apartment and have two to three bedrooms. They are particularly suitable for families or small groups of friends who want to share a home. They range in price from AUD $250-$400 per week and you will need to allow for paying a bond (normally four weeks rent in advance) and purchasing or renting furniture.
Houses consist of a lounge and/or dining room, bathroom, toilet, kitchen, laundry and two to four bedrooms. Houses generally have a backyard which it is your responsibility to maintain. If you are planning to rent a whole house, you should be prepared to pay somewhere in the vicinity of AUD $500-700 per week and you will need to allow for paying a bond (normally four weeks rent in advance) and purchasing or renting furniture.
Hostels are usually run by organisations such as Youth Hostels Australia and the YMCA, students share kitchen and bathroom facilities.
