This qualification is designed for domestic and international students seeking an advanced scholarly research and practice-informed management qualification. It will complement existing postgraduate studies and further career aspirations through mastery within the fields of business, health, hospitality or information technology.
The highly advanced standard at which the graduate will operate, includes the ability to develop and apply new skills and techniques to existing or emerging issues, whilst articulating theory and practice within a management scope. Graduates will work independently at a highly specialised level of knowledge, and they will engage in rigorous critical intellectual analysis and be in a position to assume leadership in a relevant management context.
Through the attainment of advanced work-integrated practice and advanced sophisticated theoretical knowledge the graduates will contribute to high level management particularly (but not exclusively) in the areas of business, health, hospitality, or information technology.

GENR.8001 Work-integrated Project 1
Students will learn how to investigate a range of significant challenges in their chosen field, then research and develop a proposal to overcome one of those challenges. The proposal will then be presented to a professional group for feedback, evaluation and action.

Students will identify an area to research, formulate research questions and hypotheses, conduct a literature review, select a methodological approach and create both research approval and ethics approval application documents for an extended field, dissertation or thesis project. Students will independently undertake an original research project or creative scholarly work specific to their chosen field under supervision. Admission and entry requirements for this qualification are in accordance with the academic regulations and the following criteria:

  • All applicants will be required to submit a 400-word statement about their professional goals and rationale for seeking entry into this programme. Applicants may be interviewed in person or via Skype to evaluate their suitability to enter the programme.
  • All applicants must possess:
    • an undergraduate degree or equivalent with a B average or above, and demonstration of at least one year's equivalent practical or professional experience at a managerial level with at least two written references; or
    • a bachelor's honours degree with a B average or above; or
    • a postgraduate diploma or equivalent.
