Former Aysha Memorial Specialised Hospital has been established in 1996 with an aim to serve the people by providing the best health care service as a private hospital in Bangladesh. In 2004, we materialized ourselves to be a multidisciplinary healthcare service providing the tertiary hospital with the core value which is to make healthcare healthier. Today, after one decade of serving people it is now better known as Universal Medical College & Hospital Ltd. former Aysha Memorial Specialized Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd. (AMSHPL), one of the most recognized and renowned referral hospitals in Bangladesh. Universal Medical College has been established in 2013 with an intention to produce medical graduates, capable to provide quality health care service to the people of Bangladesh. It was decided that the medical college will be non-profitable and will produce quality doctors. In the last decade, there is tremendous development in the health sector in Bangladesh. In our country having talented doctors, we have now a day’s world-class equipment of updated technology for the current diagnosis of the disease. So we can achieve the faith of patients with our devoted teamwork. Universal Medical College & Hospital Ltd. A beautifully arranged campus with well equipped Hospital & Laboratories and fully air-conditioned classrooms, modern teaching facilities and adequate treatment facilities for indoor and outdoor patients. The College building is accommodated in 8 storied building and the attached Hospital is accommodated in 6 storied building with arrangements for 350 inpatients.
With modern & standard operation theatres, all facilities of general Hospital, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), bedside Haemodialysis Unit, UMCH is ready at its new form.
UNIVERSAL MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL LTD. has a highly skilled team in Bangladesh, even most of them are overseas trained, providing expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of medical specialities from general practice Cardiology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases etc. They provide consultations to our outpatient's department every day for your convenience and ready access. Making an appointment is recommended to avoid the need for waiting upon the availability of the specialist. The patient who needs to be hospitalized for investigation or treatment is admitted to the ’Medical’ wing.
Courses
Admission
A foreign applicant must fulfil the following conditions and requirements in order to be considered for admission at universal Medical College (UMC) or in other medical colleges (government & private) of Bangladesh:
- The applicant/candidate must pass the Secondary and Higher Secondary School Certificate (SSC and HSC) examinations or equivalent examinations namely O and A levels. The SSC and HSC or equivalent certificates (O and A level) must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country.
- The minimum academic eligibility criteria for admission in medical colleges are GPA 7.0 for SSC+HSC and GPA 3.5 in Biology.
- An application should be made through Bangladesh High Commission/Embassy. The application form is available from August/September onwards at the Bangladesh High Commission/Embassy of the respective country. The candidate must mention the name of the medical college of his choice in the application form. The application should be submitted to Bangladesh High Commission/Embassy Office with a demand draft (DD) of US$ 60.00 (sixty) only made payable to Director, Medical Education HMPD, DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka.
Accommodation
There are two separate hostels for male and female students within the campus. Hostels have the facilities such as dining room, common room with arrangements for games, TV etc.
HOSTEL RULES:
Students are to comply with the following rules & regulations during their study in this Medical College.
HOSTEL TIME :
Hostel gate will be closed at 10.00 PM and opened at 6.00 AM. All students must come back to hostel before 10.00 PM.
Other than class hours, before leaving the hostel, the students are directed to sign the register book and must produce application duly signed by legal guardians on return.
VISITING TIME FOR GUESTS :
Only near relations of a student (Parents, Sisters, Brothers) are allowed to see the students in the hostel guest room between following hours :

* Guests are not allowed in the room of student.
DINING:
All students will take food from the students’ common mess at the dining hall and maintain the following timetable:
| BREAK FAST | : | 7.00 AM TO 9.30 AM |
| LUNCH | : | 1.00 PM TO 3.00 PM |
| DINNER | : | 8.00 PM TO 10.00 PM |
Food is not allowed to be taken to the rooms from dining hall. Preparation of food in the room is prohibited.
CLEANLINESS :
Students are asked to maintain proper cleanliness of their rooms. Waste materials from rooms are to be kept in wastebasket / plastic bin in each floor. It is expected that every student will be well disciplined and behave properly both in hostel and in the campus and must not be involved in anything unbecoming and unwanted.
The college authority will bear no responsibility for any activity or traveling outside the campus by the students. The college authority will provide accommodation for a student during the 5 year MBBS course. If a student fails to pass in due time, the college authority may not take responsibility to provide accommodation for further period.
