The world is changing. Digital technologies are providing a high degree of dynamism for a permanent change of society and economy. Above all, the media industry is characterized by this constant change and a multitude of innovative developments. How do you already find your way around the media society of tomorrow? How to recognize and use the opportunities of digital transformation in good time?
These and other questions about the global media and business world are answered by Macromedia University of Applied Sciences. With approximately 80 professors and over 2,600 students, it is part of Galileo Global Education , currently the largest private education group for applied arts, communication and management subjects in European secondary and tertiary education. At Macromedia University, students learn methods and skills that prepare them for the challenges of the rapidly changing world of Industry 4.0 - especially through the combination of creative processes and management skills. As a university for shaping the digital transformation, we convey to them the attitude of understanding change and change as an opportunity to gain a decisive edge on the job market. This credo is also conveyed by our slogan "you change".
At the Macromedia University, students are taught by professors from the day they enroll until their graduation. In this respect, the Macromedia University differs significantly from other educational providers who offer Bachelor's and Master's programs, but do not have a university status and do not employ professors.
Since the beginning of 2015, the Macromedia University presents itself with a new name and trademark (logo). As a Macromedia University of Applied Sciences, we have expanded our academic portfolio with additional masters degrees and the establishment of a Business School . For example, we are meeting the growing demand from students to use their studies in addition to specialist specialization to acquire management skills. A clear unique selling point in business administration programs is our increased competence in the networked online society. Thinking and acting economically, leading a project or running a business are unthinkable today without a wide variety of online and offline communication channels.
A special feature of the Bachelor's degree program is the semester abroad that is firmly integrated into the course of study . The students spend at one of the currently 18 foreign partner universities of the so-called 5CU (Five Continental University) consortium, with which the Macromedia University has elaborated detailed cooperation agreements. The 5CU consortium includes such prestigious institutions as the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Chulalongkorn University or the University of Westminster. Whether our students want to study in the Sydney or San Diego beaches, the Stellenbosch (South Africa) vineyards, or the urbanity of Bangkok, we can guarantee full recognition of their overseas study credentials on the basis of our academic exam.
In order to offer students a close link between theory and practice, the university has filled its roughly 80 professorships with scientists and experts from industry, universities and agencies. The study includes real-world tasks from the first semester, practical projects with renowned corporate partners such as Siemens, Adobe or Sky as well as a six-month internship. At the same time, the students
in the individual study programs are accompanied very individually in the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and the development of their social and creative personality.
Study locations of the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences are Munich, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. All five Bachelor programs as well as the individualized Master program are accredited by the FIBAA agency and are state recognized by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and the Arts. In addition, in 2011 the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences received the institutional accreditation from the German Council of Science and Humanities and in 2014 the quality seal of the Media Campus Bavaria. The CHE University Ranking 2014/15 ranks Macromedia University of Applied Sciences several times in the top group for the area of media / communication sciences / journalism.
