The aim of this website is to present general information on the institute and the facilities and services provided for students, as well as well as an outline of programmes currently offered by AIT. We offer a wide variety of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, delivered on a full-time and part-time basis.
Programmes at AIT have been introduced and developed in line with changing regional, national and international needs. Emphasis on research activities and liaison with industrial and commercial organisations has helped to ensure the relevance and technological competence of courses at the institute, and has enhanced the employment prospects of our graduates over the years.

The Students’ Union keep a fully up-to-date listing of all type of accommodation including apartment complexes, private houses and family digs.
An abundance of close, convenient, well cared-for accommodation within Athlone, makes house-hunting easy for new and current students. Check the Students’ Union list of available accommodation through their website.
Choose from purpose-built student-apartment blocks; a traditional house in the private sector; or a house-share. Maybe you’ll opt for “digs” — living as part of a local family who provide your main meals — to smooth the transition from home-life to full independent living. Families offering digs are also coordinated through the SU.
The Students’ Union has a dedicated Vice-President for Student Welfare and Accommodation who can be contacted at suvice@aitsu.ie for queries and for help with accommodation queries of a serious nature.
