MMI Academy (a wholly owned subsidiary of Modern Montessori International Pte Ltd) was founded on the 30th December 2009 in line with the new education act that was passed by the Singapore government, resulting in the formation of the Council of Private Education (CPE).As Singapore gears itself towards consolidating her position as the preferred destination of studies for international students in the Asia Pacific region, the mandatory Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF) and Edu Trust schemes were introduced by the Council of Private Education (CPE). In line with our vision “To be a leading educational institution both in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, with excellent services and total commitment to our customers’ requirements” we had put our system through rigorous audits by the Council of Private Education (CPE). We are proud that MMI Academy is amongst the elite Private Education Organization (PEO) to be awarded with the ERF status, which allows us to operate as a private school. Moreover, with the Edu-Trust license, it enables us to recruit expatriate learners from abroad.
As a result of these stringent rules and regulations that was put in place by the Council of Private Education (CPE), an exponential increase in the number of overseas students coming to study and reside in Singapore was experienced as compared to our neighboring countries and Australia alike.
MMI Academy has invested heavily in infrastructure to facilitate this demand. The academy is now a proud owner of two state of the art buildings (MMI Building I and MMI Building II), which houses both our School of Early Childhood Studies and School of Business. MMI Academy is very popular with students due to its accessibility as we are situated at the city centre. Aside from being connected by two prominent Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) routes, our school is served by numerous bus services, which can take students to various part of the island. In addition, MMI Academy’s accessibility and its proximity to public amenities (e.g. National Library Singapore) make it an oasis of learning with the convenience of a central location.
In line with our mission of “Advance Human Potential by Integrating quality educational service and professional excellence”, MMI Academy has crafted out a reputation for being a modern day college for students who want up-to-date cutting edge learning that prepares them fully for job demand in the modern era. We pride ourselves in having a core group of qualified faculty members with years of industry experience, stringent academic process and close faculty attention being paid to students’ development. MMI Academy offers both full-time and part-time courses, with the student population comprising both Singaporeans and foreigners.
Enhancing students’ learning experience, facilities in our school includes biometric classroom access, fiber optics broadband services, a well stocked library with broadband access, roof top garden with a panoramic view of Singapore city skyline and fully equipped air-conditioned classrooms. In recognition of our good academic processes, MMI Academy has reached another milestone in the year 2013. We were awarded the Approved Training Organization (ATO) status by Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to offer highly subsidised government programmes to the public.
The future looks bright for the organization with all these programmes operating with clockwork precision and efficiency. MMI Academy has adopted a multi-pronged approach in its ambitious expansion plan in the next five years. Aside from the core teacher training market and the ATO market, MMI Academy has identified a few key areas of development, especially in offering degree programmes for Business, Management, Finance and Accounting. Our immediate goal is to establish collaboration with esteemed Universities to offer these degree programmes. Partnership of such nature would open up endless windows of opportunities for exponential growth for the school. Research has shown that students would opt for a school offering an education pathway towards a degree programme as their preferred destination. As an organisation seeking for constant improvement, we are confident that we would reach the pinnacle of obtaining a 4 year Enhanced Registration Framework status and Edu-Trust license in the near future.
