Education System in France

Does France have a good education system?

France is the most desirable country among the abroad students after the UK, USA, Canada. Likely we can say it is the 4th highest-ranking country for enhancing education. Among 2.5 billion people mostly 12% of the students come to France for their higher studies from abroad. It depends upon the language you choose for learning. Most of the curriculum is taught in French language, only a few courses are taught in English. So knowing French is the most advantage for the students. France culture, heritage, education diversity blended into unity. Most of the university ranked under Times, PISA. If you want a quality of education, then France should be in your bucket list. France is the most elite in education providing the country.

 

Study programme

The education system starts in the age of six. Form age six to eleven it is compulsory one should have to study.

Primary to lower secondary stage- 6-14 years(age)

Under graduate or Bachelors degree(licence)- 3years

Post graduate or masters(Maitrise)- 1- 2 years

Doctoral or Ph.D degree(docteur)- 3 -4 years

 

Schooling programme

Usually, France’s session starts in September. France school system named as BEPC (Based Essais de la petite ). France schools begin their schooling programme from 3 years, they have named their kinder garden programme Ecole Maternelle, Ecole primaire to the middle schools and Lycee to the senior high school. After senior school, every stage has its own name. 10th is called seconde, 11th grade is framed as premiere and 12th certificate is named Baccalaureate. school timings are like 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. A week contains 24-28 hrs class in the school of France.

 

Bachelors degree

France is one of the leading destination among the international student. France education system follows their most popular LMD system that consist Licence- Master-Doctorat. France called bachelors degree licence and for the professional degree they give ‘Licence Profesionnelle’. It takes mostly 3 to 4 years to cover. Other hand “grandes ecoles” is sets their standard of teaching. Mostly elite people takes admission here and mainly social science and arts are being taught here. Most desirable courses are-

Bachelor in data science and many more…

 

Masters degree

After bachelors degree, if anyone wants to do post-graduation, France will be the best option. Masters duration depends on the institutes. Many institutes complete it in 1 year many completed 1.5 - 2 years. Some of the institutes offer integrated Ph.D. programmes which covered masters and research both. France education system has named their master's programme as Taught Masters (M.A, M.Sc, M.ENG) and the other is Research Master (MRes, MA by Research) doctorates and Ph.D.Mainly students applied for –

Doctoral degree

France offering doctoral programme also. Integrated students get their doctorat and masters degree ad jointly. Otherwise most of the universities offer 3 to 4 years of doctoral programmes. They provide world class amenities to the researcher. They organize seminars, workshops, and lectures to upgrade students. It helps academic professionals also.

 

Vocational training

The students who are willing to take job early they may apply for vocational training. More practical knowledge helps the students to get job easily. Some people do wish to get job early and then looking for quality of education.

Most of the institution followed the national curriculum of ministry of education, France. The international students’ advice to take French classes prior at least B1 and B2 level one who wish to apply in social science and arts subjects.
