Admission


Admission to a Bachelor’s Degree program

To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) 

Equivalencies

  • One of the following certificates with a minimum grade of 65 or above in required program subjects:

    • All India Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate
    • Year 12 State Board Exams 
    • Include transcripts for any post-secondary courses or programs completed
  • English Proficiency requirements are as follows for consideration:

    • Minimum TOEFL score of 560 (paper based) or 84 (internet based with no single test score below 21) or an IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.5 (with no single test score below 6.0) or CAEL with an overall band score of 60 and Writing 60.
    • Bachelor of Nursing Degree: a minimum TOEFL score of 600 (paper based) or 100 + (internet based with no single test score below 21) or IELTS score with an overall minimum score of 7.0 (with no single test score below 6.5).

Admission to a Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate program

To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) 

Equivalencies

  • One of the following certificates with a minimum grade of 60 or above in required program subjects:

    • All India Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate
    • Year 12 State Board Exams 
  • English Proficiency requirements are as follows for consideration:

    • A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper based) or 80 (internet based with no single test score below 20) - TOEFL code 9285 or IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.0 (with no single test score below 5.5) or CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) with an overall band score of 60.

Admission to a Graduate Certificate program

To be eligible for admission you must possess a bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma. 

Equivalencies

  • Bachelor’s degree placed in the First Division/Class, university transcripts (Consolidated Transcripts are Not Acceptable), and backlog summary

  • Maximum Backlogs Accepted

    • Bachelor’s degree- 3 year: 3 backlogs
    • Bachelor’s degree- 4 year: 6 backlogs
    • Master’s degree: 4 backlogs
    • 10+3 Curriculum: 4 backlogs
  • English Proficiency requirements are as follows for consideration:

    • Minimum TOEFL score of 580 (paper based) or 88 (internet based with no single test score below 22) or an IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.5 (no single test score below 6.0) or CAEL with an overall band score of 70.

Students whose English and/or math score does not meet Humber’s requirements cannot request additional testing to determine admission, as distance testing is no longer offered.

Accommodation


ON-CAMPUS RESIDENCE

Humber provides on-campus residence for more than 1,450 students at our two Toronto campuses. Applying for a room in residence is a simple process. Once you have been accepted to study at Humber you may apply to live in residence with the International Student Residence Application form.

NOTE: On-Campus housing is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you receive a room in residence you will be required to provide a $500 deposit to the Humber Residence Department. The $500 is non-refundable’ please do not pay until you have been assigned a residence room

STUDENT HOMESTAY SERVICES

Students looking for a welcoming place to live and wanting to add an enriching element to their Canadian experience can consider a homestay option. Homestay providers coordinate accommodations with a host family, which helps ease the transition into life in a new country.

Humber does not recommend any particular homestay provider and is unable to review the host families and their homes. Students should do their own evaluation of each homestay provider.

OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING/RENTING

There are many options for living off-campus. Please note that the International Centre is not responsible for the information provided by Places4Students and other renting websites.
