The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences is Canada’s only post-secondary institution devoted exclusively to health science education. Its graduates serve vital roles in the country’s health care sector, in such fields as Radiation Therapy, Medical Laboratory Science, Respiratory Therapy and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and more.

An international applicant is an applicant who does not hold permanent resident, Canadian Citizen or landed immigrant status in Canada. International applicants applying to full-time programs require a Study Permit to study in Canada. Applicants in Canada on a work permit or student visa are also considered as international applicants.
An internationally educated applicant is a domestic applicant with international education.
In addition to program-specific admission requirements, there are two documents required for applicants with international education: a credential assessment, and proof of English language proficiency. Only an original or certified copy will be accepted. These documents are due by the application document deadline. International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The scoring for IELTS is an overall score of 6.5 with all components (bands) of the test being at a 6 or above. ‘Academic’ test format is required. Information is available from IELTS Office, University of Cambridge |
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Test of Written English (TWE). The scores required for TOEFL are a minimum TOEFL score of 100 (iBT) with a minimum of 22 on the Writing Section or 250 (computer) or 600 (written) and TWE of 5.0. Unless applicants have written a TWE along with the paper-based TOEFL test, they will be required to write that portion of the assessment. |
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic). The scoring for PTE Academic is an overall score of 65, with no communicative skill (reading, listening, writing, speaking) under 60. |
Living in Michener’s student residence, you immediately have a network of peers to work on assignments or study with; you are close to classes, computer labs and the library and you are within walking distance of downtown amenities! At Michener, our residence population tends to be a mature group of students who value both their residence experience and their education. Our residence building is co-ed, has twenty-four hour security and is located directly on campus
