Curtin is WA’s most preferred university and is globally recognised for its strong connections with industry, high-impact research and wide range of innovative courses.

With campuses in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Margaret River, Singapore and Malaysia, our 53,000 students come from all over the world and enjoy outstanding facilities, high-quality teaching, collaborative research and courses shaped by industry.

Positioned in the top two per cent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2016, Curtin maintains strong research partnerships with some of the world’s largest companies, including Woodside, Chevron and Cisco, which result in outcomes that help solve real-world problems on a local, national and global scale.

Curtin’s emphasis on collaboration has seen it emerge as the most collaborative Australian university in the 2016 Nature Index. Nature also ranked Curtin the third-fastest “rising star” in research in Asia Pacific for 2016, and in the top 100 globally for growth in high-quality science research.

In the 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia assessment by the Commonwealth Government, Curtin achieved world standard level or above in 85 per cent of assessed discipline areas.

It received the highest score of five in the fields of astronomical and space science, physical chemistry, geochemistry, geology, crop and pasture production, electrical and electronic engineering, medical microbiology, nursing, and nutrition and dietetics.

Curtin is undertaking one of Australia’s largest university infrastructure projects. The Greater Curtin Master Plan is a 20-year strategy to transform Curtin’s main campus in Perth into a major innovation precinct which will drive collaboration and commercialisation, create opportunities for students and help position Western Australia at the forefront of the knowledge economy.

It will include new transport infrastructure and student accommodation, as well as dedicated spaces and programs to support entrepreneurship, and facilities to foster research and industry partnerships.

# English entry for physiotherapy, nursing, psychology and pharmacy courses can only be met by IELTS or OET (Occupational English Test). TOEFL is not acceptable.
Note 1: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) guidelines exist for physiotherapy and psychology courses. These guidelines require students undertaking postgraduate clinical placements to obtain limited or provisional registration, which requires applicants to achieve an IELTS score of 7.0 across all bands or an overall pass in the OET with grades A or B in each of the four components. Therefore, the University will require any student undertaking these courses to submit an IELTS or OET prior to being eligible for admission into the mainstream course. Further information is available on the AHPRA website.
Note 2: applicants who complete a bachelor degree course in which English was the language of instruction will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
