Accommodation

Accommodation
Choose your lifestyle
Your accommodation sets the tone for your uni life.  Choosing on-campus housing where you will live with lots of others, or finding your own place in Canberra depends on your preference and budget.
At certain times of the year it can be extremely difficult to secure accommodation in Canberra, so it is important you start your search early.

Campus accommodation
Take a look at UC Lodge, Cooper Lodge, Weeden Lodge, and the University of Canberra Village.

Short-term stay accommodation
The University of Canberra Village offers tourists, groups, independent travellers as well as UC staff and faculty a range of self-catered apartments year round.  They offer a number of convenient facilities, including an on-site café, coin operated laundry and common recreation lounge with Foxtel.  The University of Canberra Village is a perfect choice for holiday, business, sports or conference groups visiting the Nation’s Capital.

For a limited period, and subject to availability and relevant terms and conditions, the University of Canberra Village is offering a 15% discount for students, staff & faculty on short-stay accommodation.  If you are in need of contemporary accommodation right on-campus you can enjoy affordable room rates that start at just $50! Book for friends, family or make a group booking of up to 300 members (subject to availability). Their modern apartments offer bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and spacious living and dining areas. Catering is also available upon request.

Off-campus accommodation
Consider homestay, renting in the ACT, short term or temporary accommodation.

The University of Canberra and its Bruce (Canberra ACT) campus accommodation providers are pleased to offer guaranteed accommodation to new and continuing international students and first-year domestic students in 2018.

  • undertake your course of study at the Bruce (Canberra, ACT) campus; and

UC was the better university across the board

Cameron Naughton

Studied half of my Bachelor of Accounting at UC and the other half at UOW. UC was the better university across the board. Better set up for online delivery, modules etc, easier assessments, less academic, easier to follow and I generally learnt more from my UC teachings. I would've given UC 5 stars, except that I think every subject I studied required a group assignment, even if it didn't really suit the subject well. Group assignments are difficult by nature and I do not think they match a workplace environment where hierarchies exist.

Best university

I give UC 4 stars because while it does have it's not-so-great aspects, those are all based on how I was feeling as a student that day. there are a lot of students who expect the teachers to teach them every single thing but UC is more "come back to us when you have the minor skills down and we'll work on the others" so that's great in some classes, in others you want your tutor to be a leader and provide solid advice. But students can be super lazy (I know I was at times) so yeah... it really is how you make it. I enjoyed my bachelors there but would probably do my honors and master elsewhere.
